You can stop wasting your time with things that don't matter. That was advice I was given years ago from a close friend that was also trying to earn a college degree. Her advice to me was directly related to my path in life at the time. I was going nowhere at a nowhere job. I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I then took a look at her life and realized that she was on a path toward success. She had applied for the Pell Grant and obtained it. She used it to get through to her bachelor's degree at a state college. She then worked an internship for the profession that she had always wanted. Later on, she had to take out a few school loans to achieve her masters degree and today she has a PhD and a career that pays her a six-figure income, the job or career that she always wanted. In regard to single moms that have dreams, when you decide that you want to make a change, your best bet is probably going back to college. It will be a rough time because you already have kids. I remember that the community college that I attended initially provided free day care. I dropped my kids off and went to class only to pick them up a few hours later happy and healthy. This is doable, but you have to realize that it is going to take time and money. Most colleges require financial aid from students in the form of grants, student loans, or scholarships because their bills need to be paid to. Even though you may not have the money, there is a way to get it. Based on your financial situation, you could apply for and receive tens of thousands of dollars from the federal government. All you need to do is apply. Start a change for the better today. Look at your life and take account of what it is that you have and where it is you want to go. You may realize that your dreams may not be attained unless you achieve a college degree which will get you a job that will pay for a lifestyle that you really want. You can do what my friend did, and what I have done. Go back to school, obtain a college degree, and begin to change your life today.
