Trucking Careers- "It's a Lifestyle Not a Job" With the economy in the state it is in right now, there are more and more people looking into trucking as a career alternative. The
realization that there will always be drivers needed to deliver the enormous amounts of freight delivered daily all over the country,
has created a huge desire for many to investigate trucking as a possible career choice.
The main problem with this is that most people do not understand that the lifestyle and requirements for a career in trucking are
extremely demanding and sacrificial. I have gone over this in great depth and detail in my book, "The Truth about Trucking" in
order to save those who are just looking for a career transition from the shock and disappointment that can occur if their
personality and lifestlye expectations are not suitable for over the road truck driving ( OTR). There is nothing worse than spending
anywhere form $2500.00 to $10,000.00 on a truck driver training program, only to find out that the career you thought was going
to give security and stability in an unstable world, has caused a life of stress and disillusionment.
I can however recommend many alternatives for a career in trucking if trucking remains ones choice. Many of these include local
and regional driving jobs which will remove the stress of OTR driving.
One thing you must realize is that you will be required to have anywhere from 6 months to 2 years driving experience in order to
be considered for a local truck driving job. This is because of the strict insurance requirements enforced since 911. What this
means is that you are most likely going to have to go over the road for your first year or so in order to obtain this necessary and required experience. The OTR trucking companies are one of the few that can hire and insure newly trained CDL graduates. Once you have
this experience you can then apply locally or regionally for a position.
Trucking is an extremely secure job in the sense that there will always be the need for drivers, however, one must carefully look
into the lifestyle and personalty qualifications prior to committing to the initial cost of a CDL trianing program. More than any other career that I know of, I can confidently say, "It's a Lifestlye... not a Job"

Acoustic Treatment and Soundproofing for Better Sound Quality

More Details about Ayre acoustics here.
Sound moves in the form of waves from its original source to all the directions. As these waves travel, they interact with everything that comes in their path. It depends on the nature of the encounter that can reflect, deflect or absorb the waves. Acoustic treatment is the process of minimizing unwanted or unnecessary sounds by using specific materials.
If you have Ayre acoustics home theater or a recording studio, it's important to insulate the space to minimize the level of noise entering from an external source. This will also prevent the sound from going out, thus creating better sound effects.
There are different types of acoustic treatments for a home theater enthusiast that will create a great sounding environment. You can use three types of acoustic treatments for your home theater including absorbers, reflectors and diffusers.
Reflectors
A reflector is a surface that bounces off the sound without even touching it.
Absorbers
This particular material traps the sound or particular frequencies of the sound, and is useful in creating a dead sounding space.
Diffusers
This surface scatters the sound in different directions according to the pattern of the sound.
Choosing the sound treatment for your home theater
A home theater can be placed in the living room, bedroom or even in the dining space. If you want to get good quality sound, it is important that you opt for wall absorbers. These are panel absorbers made of fiberglass and can create an astonishingly good sound effect in the house.
Use some bass traps, wedge type or tube shaped, for the corners of the room because an inaccurate bass response in the room can make some frequencies louder than others.
You can also have single large diffusers at the rear end of the home theater. The staggered surface of the diffusers will bounce off the sound in different directions. Put one on the wall behind the seating area to get better sound effects.
There are many other soundproofing materials like egg boxes and foam insulation panels. The egg boxes break up the sound reflections coming from the hard or flat surfaces of the room but they are not helpful in soundproofing. Foam, lightweight ceiling tiles, and rockwool are also not good for soundproofing but they will help in the acoustic treatment.
When you are doing the acoustic treatment and soundproofing of the room, it is important to look out for the places from where the sound is penetrating. Ceiling, walls, doors, windows and floors are the main areas. After this, find out if you have to seal any crack, gap, or opening in the room. The windows should be double-paned before you insulate the walls. To create a better soundproofing effect, use upholstered furniture and soundproof curtains.
If after trying out every acoustic and soundproofing material, you are not happy with the result, it's time to contact an acoustic soundproofing professional to measure the room and pinpoint the areas from where the sound is penetrating. A consultation will tremendously help improve your home theater to function at its best.
