The way I think of blogging is to imagine an online journal. I can put down my thoughts on any topic I like. I can share my pet peeves, my success stories, my setbacks, etc... It's a fun way to document my online journey. Of course, while I'm sharing my thoughts, experiences, successes, and setbacks, I am hoping to attract visitors with similar interests. So I try to be sure and work in relevant content that has some of my most targeted keywords. My own blog is focused on my journey through the world of Autoresponders and Email Marketing. I've made my living using AutoResponders and Email Marketing strategies for many years now and I certainly have a few thoughts to share about my experiences. However, you don't absolutely need a tremendous amount of experience in a particular area to start blogging about it. I've seen some folks start a blog to journal and document their journey in to a new area. Some examples might include: The lady that started blogging about her weight loss experiment. She documented her starting weight, meals, exercise plan, weigh-ins, etc... throughout her entire journey. The young man who decided to get started in Internet Marketing and wanted to document his experiences along the way. The teenager who loves video games and started blogging about his own experiences, accomplishments, and recommendations. The woman that started reviewing online products and services and used her blog to share her thoughts and opinions. Blogging can be used to cover and write about a wide variety of products, services, experiences, likes, and dislikes. And it can be fun. But the key question is ... how do we generate leads from our blog? On my own blog, as I am writing about AutoResponders and Email Marketing, I also have a form on my blog that offers a free report. That free report is titled: "How Email Marketing with AutoResponders Can Help You Boost Online Sales". People that visit and read my blog are going to be interested in Email Marketing. That's why they are reading my blog. Right there on the blog (on the right hand side) is a form that offers every visitor a free report. And every day, someone fills out that form to request my free report. What about the lady that is blogging about her weight loss? She can add a form that offers information on her diet plan, any products she may have used, etc... The teenager who loves video games might offer a report on cheats, strategies, gaming advice, recommendations, etc... Each of these folks could either create their own products or become an Affiliate for any number of related products. By creating and managing your own blog, you are able to: The key is to be sure you update your blog fairly regularly and provide valuable content that will cause visitors to want to follow your blog. You can reference interesting articles, share your own experiences, ask questions of your readers and more. As you build your credibility with your readers, they will begin to view you as an authority on your subject matter. And when they begin to consider where they should purchase related products and services, your name will the the one they think of.
