Detecting scams when trying to prepare your children for modelingby Mark Lavel Send Feedback to Mark Lavel More Details about http://onlinemodelworld.com here.
How do some modeling scams start? Why do people fall for these scams? Some of these modeling scams start innocently enough and people who want the best for their kids often fall for these scam artists simply because they believed in what they were being told. Some people who fall for these scams did not even think that finding children for modeling is an angle that scam artists often use to get people to give them their hard-earned money. How this happens is easy enough, and most people rarely see the signs. Here is a scenario that you can easily associate with a "children for modeling scam" that is actually happening everywhere: A parent is approached in a mall by someone who claims to be an agent, and this so-called agent tells the parent that they are looking for models young enough to promote or model products that their clients have. These scam artists then tell the parent that their daughter or son is ideal for modeling, and it would be a waste for them to pass this opportunity by. These so-called agents then try to do a convincing job of telling these parents that for them to get the chance to have their children try out for these modeling stints, they have to come to their office for professional shots that cost a certain amount of money. Here is where the alarm bells in your head should start sounding. When you have a child who can belong to a roster of models young enough to promote or pose for products made for kids, you should be aware that making a portfolio is not really necessary. So-called agents who try to get you to pay hundreds of dollars to help you create a portfolio to prepare your children for modeling jobs are actually trying to scam you out of you hard-earned money since most starting child models do not need a portfolio yet to snag clients. What a young model needs when trying to land his or her first modeling gig is a simple headshot that an agency can present to clients. No agency can ask models for holding fees from models they represent since they are only supposed to get paid once a model they represent gets work and they get a commission from that job. This means that parents should be wary of agents who ask for money up front to process certain photos, holding fees, and other similar yet non-existent fees that scammers create to get money from people.
When you have possiblemodels young enough for kiddy modeling jobs but cannot find a way to get them started, there are good agents who can help prepare your children for modeling without you ever having to give them money to find your kids modeling jobs.
