In today's economy more and more people are turning to the web to find ways they can make money from home. Whether you are looking to supplement your income by making money frome home or replace your income with your own home based business, there are a few critical factors to success that you need to keep in mind. They are: 1) Why do you want a home based business? You really need to sit down and answer this one. The "Why Factor" will be critical to your success in any home based business. My own "why" comes down to freedom. I have five children. At my best in a job situation, I was making plenty of money but I was never around to spend any time with my children. I had to wake up and leave for work before they got out of bed. And far too often, I was getting home just about the time they were going back to bed. I was making a great living. But I had no life! Today, running my own home based business means I am available to each of my kids and my wife. We can drop what we're doing and take off for lunch, go see a movie, or anything else we want to do in the middle of the afternoon. Freedom is my big WHY. What is yours? 2) Do you BELIEVE you can make money from home? Don't let this one pass you by without really considering it. If you don't absolutely believe you can make money from home with your own home based business, then the ugly reality is that you won't succeed. It is easy to find people that will tell you it can't be done. They will quickly quote some fabricated statistic as "proof" that it can't be done. The reality is that THEY can't do it. But you have to decide if YOU can. It is also very easy to find case after case of successful home based business professionals. Spend just a few minutes searching online or visit your local library or bookstore to find more evidence of home based business success than you could possibly read. When I started out to launch my own home based business, I didn't know many people that were doing it. I knew how to run a business and I knew I could do it from my home. Going back to my WHY, I knew I just had to do whatever it took to figure it out. I haven't had a regular job in almost 10 years! 3) You have to be willing to just GO FOR IT! When all is said and done, the single largest factor that separates the dreamers from the doers is action. You absolutely MUST take action and get moving or your home based business will never be anything more than a dream. There is no such thing as really having it all together or truly being "ready" to start your home based business. You are going to learn as you go. Sometimes, you will learn from your successes. Other times, you will learn from your mistakes. I've had my share of successes and what some would call "failures" along the way. But to my way of thinking, those so-called "failures" were just valuable experiences that taught me (very convincingly) what I won't be doing next time! The point is: GET STARTED! Take Action! You can do research. You can test the waters. You can draw up your plan. You can get good advice. But when it comes right down to it... you simply need to take action and get started.
