New York, NY October 24, 2009 -- Edcomm Banker's Academy has recently updated its Compliance training program to include The Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA). The Truth In Lending Act (TILA) module of Focus on Compliance has been revised as part of Edcomm Banker's Academy's commitment to providing the most up-to-date and accurate financial services information.

The HEOA includes several new reporting requirements for institutions as well as grant programs for students and colleges. Its purpose is to lower the cost of college education and simplify federal loan applications. The HEOA establishes rules regarding relationships between higher education institutions and lenders, including conflicts of interest, preferred lender lists and disclosure of loan terms and conditions. Under the Act, the Federal Government will, for the first time, regulate not only federal student loans but private educational lending as well.
