It is unfortunate that some women find themselves in a crowded relationship where their spouses stray and get involved in extra-marital affairs. This is often very devastating as the woman would be left wondering what wrong she committed so as to be replaced.
In some African cultures, it is normal for a wealthy man to marry as many wives as he can afford to pay dowry for. In fact in some cultures having many wives is consider as wealth. But with change in attitudes and the western influence, the polygamous trends are slowly dyeing out.
So what do you do if the other woman comes into your marriage? I would advise that the legitimate woman does not pick up a cat fight with the rival. This is because the intruding woman would realize that she is getting attention and may want to stick to the relationship so as to enjoy this attention.
The best thing to do would be for the affected woman to organize a getaway with her spouse to a quiet place where the two of them can get to discuss their relationship. It is important for her to be calm, loving and positive minded while raising her concerns about the state of their marriage. Getting to understand why her husband has strayed is important if a solution is to be reached. Any man who is approached with respect would reconsider his decision to indulge in an extra-marital affair.
Marriage is a sacred institution that should ideally involve a man and one wife, so if any woman is contemplating being the spare wheel in an established marriage, she should retract her thoughts.
