Get The Sale With A Call To Actionby Brian Rooney Send Feedback to Brian Rooney autoresponder lettersMore Details about autoresponder letters here.
One of the biggest mistakes I see among marketers using AutoResponders is a weak or completely missing "Call To Action" in their follow-up messages. What is a "Call To Action"? Put simply, it's the line in your advertising that tells clients what to do next. Without a solid and compelling Call To Action in your AutoResponder messages, you're just sending out cute messages. The whole point of following up with your prospects is to get them to buy. Sure, we use AutoResponders to build credibility. We want to build our credibility so that prospects will buy from us. And yes, we use AutoResponders to build brand recognition. We want to build brand recognition so prospects are more likely to buy from us. An effective message tells readers what to do and gives them a compelling reason to do it. If your goal is to get readers to visit your web site, tell them to visit your web site and be sure to include the URL (web site address) of your web site! If your AutoResponder allows HTML, create a clickable link. If your AutoResponder does not allow HTML, get a new AutoResponder service ASAP! More than just telling readers what to do, your Call To Action needs to give them some motivation. Here are some ideas on ways to motivate readers to take action: Give a deadline for ordering by using phrases like, "This Offer Expires In Ten Days!" Or something like, "Order by the 15th and receive this free bonus gift!" This helps your readers avoid putting off the decision to purchase by creating some urgency. Inform readers of an impending price increase. Let them know that this may be their last chance to order at this price, so they'd better take advantage of this offer right away. Offer a trial period. Show your customers you want their business. If possible, offer a free trial period to allow them to test out your product or service before spending any money. Create exclusivity. Is your product available only online? Maybe you can add "Not Available In Stores". Are you the only resource for this particular product or service? Tell them how "Exclusive" your offer is. Always, always, always use ACTION Phrases to get readers to take action. Action phrases include: "Call Now" By creating a sense of urgency and giving readers a compelling reason to take action NOW, you will see your sales go up!
