When you have a headache, you need information to find relief quickly. The headache relief guide does just that. It gives all the information you need about headaches and the various relief options. Before resorting to drugs and medications, various natural headache relief options should be explored. Most of the headaches are caused by tension or stress when the muscles in the head are tightened. Migraines and cluster headaches arise out of constricted blood vessels. Long-term use of medicines makes them less effective and may even make headaches occur more frequently. Natural remedies promote relaxation or help in dilating the constricted blood vessels, thereby offering relief without any side effects. Some foods, which trigger migraines like certain cheeses, onions, black tea and alcohol, should be avoided. Coffee should be taken with aspirin to be more effective but no more than two cups of coffee should be consumed in a day. An ice pack provides quick relief when placed on the forehead at the start of a headache. Applying heat via heat pads also soothes the neck muscles in the case of tension headaches. Taking hot water baths also provide some relief. A headache relief guide also reveals how massages can relax the neck muscles and relieve stress. Leaves of Feverfew and Gingko available at health food stores are also shown to reduce vascular and migraine headaches. Ginger provides relief by activating natural opiates in the brain. It can be taken in the form of tablets and in tea to provide relief. Herbs such as lavender, chamomile, cinnamon, marjoram and peppermint used in aromatherapy also promote relaxation while relieving stress and pain.
