Maximizing your Resources through Godly Alliancesby Rita Canada Send Feedback to Rita Canada Christian entrepreneurMore Details about Christian entrepreneur here.
As a Christian, you are called to pay close attention to fulfilling God's purpose in your life, and to take the necessary steps to determine if these visions are truly inspired by God. As an Entrepreneur you can set your mission in motion alone, or you can choose to share complementary resources and alliances that could maximize your potential for the Glory of God. Romans 12:4-6 states "Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts... " Alliances may take many forms. From a Christian perspective, you are encouraged to be equally yoked in any long term working relationship, particularly if you want to rely on an alliance as an accountability resource. You can utilize the complementary gifts and talents of others to launch your business or mission forward from the very beginning stages of organizational start up. Alliances will also be an advantage later on in the life of your non-profit or for profit organization, as it grows and develops. The first step in deciding whether or not to form an alliance is to understand your current situation. What are your ideas and goals? What are your priorities? What are your needs and objectives? What are your distinctive competencies? Prior to making any sort of decision, these areas should be addressed on paper (and really get them on paper!). An alliance could be the best way to optimize your resources in a situation where values are shared and distinctive competencies complement one another. Next, begin networking through various channels, including databases, business networks and other associations. Who do you know that would complement the needs and priorities of your mission, and visa versa? It is important once your potential partners are identified to share a modified business plan and strategic analysis, and to clarify how the business relationship might be structured. A formal agreement and feasibility study can then be tailored that leads into a business plan that will help everyone stay on target. A less formal but also very effective way to share resources at the early stages of your organizational vision is through benchmarking and the exchange of best practices. Initial research and discussion groups may very well tap into centers of excellence, and identify concepts and resources for programs that may have never been realized initially. You may also be able to initiate a creative bartering system or discount for services exchange that could prove to be a win-win situation for all purposes. As Christians, we have an obligation to shine the light onto the world, and to set out well armed to address the mission that God has placed in our hearts. We can strive to fulfill His will with great power, if we choose to unite as one body in an Army for Christ. He has gifted us with unique characteristics that complement one another, and as Entrepreneurs we can accomplish far more together with excellence, than we could ever possibly imagine alone.
