Okay, so you've finally decided to bite the online dating service bullet. After hearing about the many success stories of friends, acquaintances, and even of complete strangers, you've finally made up your mind. You're all set and ready to start meeting new acquaintances online--and possibly even meet your perfect match. So while you're all set to type up your online dating site profile, you can't help but think: Will your search for a perfect match online jeopardize your personal--and professional--identity? Those online dating site horror stories are, unfortunately, terrifyingly real. Also, you fear running the risk of having a professional associate--worse, your boss or client--see your very public online dating service profile. It's a bit embarrassing to have the person you transact business with have full view of--and access to--details of your personal life. I mean, he knows that you have commendable negotiation skills--but you don't want him to see you "negotiating" your love life, do you? And so now you're anxious about creating an online dating site presence that's open and public. But joining an online dating service does not have to be a cause for worry and embarrassment. And it does not have to be so public. You can still find your perfect match online and still keep your private life private, and your professional life professional. Consider an online dating site that allows you to meet other people without having the whole world view your online profile. How? You can set up a private online profile-- that's viewed by invitation only - meaning you can control who gets to see your profile. No invitation, no access to your profile. And you can invite anybody you wish--even members of other online dating services. The important thing is: You know who gets to be lucky enough to view your online profile--so you can navigate your way through online dating as discreetly as possible. No chance of any business contacts "accidentally" seeing your profile. If you are extremely shy and private, you can even have someone do the matchmaking for you. Your designated matchmaker can make the introductions for you--either through an email introduction (matchmaker can send an email introduction and redirect a guest to your online dating site profile) or through an ingenious introduction card that works very much like your professional business card; only this time, you don't give out all your contact details--just a URL and custom access code to your online profile. Joining an online dating service does not have to spell doom for your personal and professional life. You can meet many new acquaintances, gain new friends, and yes, possibly meet your perfect match online--and without any worries of getting into some very sticky, awkward moments. You don't have to explain to an associate why you're into sappy rom-com movies. Or why you prefer guys who are shorter than you are. You can relax. You can also still play hard ball as much as you'd like--they've got nothing on you.
