Here are 5 tips for making over your look that can help you uncover the beauty within, and show everyone just how beautiful you really are. 1. Don't Bend to Trends Learn to go with what works for you and ignore what doesn't, even if it's what happens to be hot today. Trends come and go, but style is eternal. Get a sound understanding of the proportions, colors and styles that flatter you, then stick with up-to-date versions of those items. If you really love a trend and want to play along, buy a few inexpensive pieces you can mix and match with your current look instead of buying an entire new (and potentially disastrous) wardrobe. 2. Do What You Already Know Works Know what makes you feel the most beautiful, then make sure you're listening to that need. If a perfect hair day makes everything better, invest in a quality cut and learn how to recreate the look you want at home. If comfort is your top priority, don't buy something that offers more style than livability. Whatever it is that makes you feel like a million bucks, integrate that into your life every day. 3. Stay On Top of Your Changing Needs Review and refine your beauty and self-care routines for maximum performance. As you grow, your skin, body and hair will go through significant changes ? and you self-care regimen needs to change to meet your those needs. If you're getting suspicious that maybe your routine isn't working as well as it should, it's probably time to consider an expert consultation (or just do a bit of research on your own, if you prefer) to see what changes you may need to make. 4. Update Your Look Make sure your hairstyle, fashion sense, makeup kit and other facets of your look have kept up with your lifestyle and your changing body. What worked for you at 17 won't be nearly as flattering or fashionable 20 years later. Update your look every few years, if not more often, to make sure you don't end up looking like a time traveler from your own distant past. 5. Celebrate Yourself and Others Acknowledge and appreciate your own unique beauty and sense of style - and those of other women. Negatively comparing yourself to others (or judging them) is destructive and, frankly, depressing. Learn to be more accepting and tolerant of your own and other?s faults - after all, we're all perfectly made for some purpose in our lives - and celebrate the diversity of beauty that is life.
