Matthew 18:3 Then he said, "I tell you the truth, you must change and become like little children. Otherwise, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Good Evening, I am sitting here this evening, in awe of the love of God in my life and in awe at the wonderful things that He has done and will do in the future. When I read this statement about becoming a child, I am so tickled about how God not only gives us living examples of how to be a child but He also gives us guidelines in His word to follow. *First, a child, from the day they are born, naturally loves their parents. When we except Jesus as our Lord and Savior, there is a part of us that naturally loves our King and Savior and our Father God even if we do not recognize or understand it. Matthew 22:37-38 37 Jesus answered, " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.'[d] 38 This is the first and most important command. *Second, we love to be with our friends and families. Matthew 22:39-40 39 And the second command is like the first: 'Love your neighbor as you love yourself.'[e] 40 All the law and the writings of the prophets depend on these two commands." *Third, a child is obedient to his parents. He learns the rules of the house and begins to obey those rules. John 14:21 Those who know my commands and obey them are the ones who love me, and my Father will love those who love me. I will love them and will show myself to them." *Next, he begins to grow and is able to be a part of the daily household chores. 2 Corinthians 6:1-3 1 We are workers together with God, so we beg you: Do not let the grace that you received from God be for nothing. (2) God says, "At the right time I heard your prayers. On the day of salvation I helped you." -- I tell you that the "right time" is now, and the "day of salvation" is now. We do not want anyone to find fault with our work, so nothing we do will be a problem for anyone. *Then, the child grows and begins to leave his home and go his own way in life. When He moves into his own place, He is still a part of the family and He is still there to offer encouragement, assistance and love to his parents and his siblings. When I first truly accepted Christ and asked him to come into my heart and take over, I was an emotional mess with no hope, no plans, no desire to live another day. When Christ stepped in, and through the prayers of those around me, I started to see the power and blessings of God, I became so hungry, first to know, what do these people know that I do not know that when they pray, the answers come and who is this person that they are praying to? I became like a child. First to the people of the church. I ran into each bible study class, bible in hand and note pad and pen ready. I looked for ways to get involved in the church, keeping in contact with these people who really knew who God was and allowing them to teach me things and correct me when I was wrong. I became so excited about the changes that were happening I could not help but tell others around me what I had found. Eventually, I was able to slowly transfer that hunger for learning from the people of the church to actually running to my Father God and ask him the questions and allow him to do the teaching, the loving and the correcting. I pray today, that you are a child to someone in your church. God has a divine connection for you and He will lead you to those who can get the messages to you that you need to hear. When you start hearing those messages and developing those relationships, you begin to be step into that position of a child. You begin to develop that hunger deep within your heart and you begin to grow in grace and love. If you are anything like me, You will begin to become alive with new hope, new love and new joy.
Iam passionate about the love of Jesus and the things that He has done in my life and I am so excited that I have to share with the world what He has done, not only in my life, but in others lives as well.
