I wanted to share with you today such a foundational truth that I have recently slipped away from and hope that as I share with you, you get as excited as I am to know the truth of God's word and how simple it is. Recently, a friend asked me to pray for her for something that we have been waiting to see come to pass for over a year. I commented, I have been praying. My thoughts were something like, yeah, I am praying and God is not answering. Immediately, God started to talk to me about how I have been praying for this friend. I have watched her constantly under pressure, constantly struggling to do more than humanly possible and I have been asking God, why aren't you helping her? Too often, my prayers are along the same lines, why Lord, don't you see, can't you help, why won't you help and on and on the list of complaints and whining goes. As God was talking to me about this, He reminded me about this book that I have that list all of the promises and with each promise is a faith statement that goes with it. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us. Many of these promises are conditional. They say, if you do this, I will do that. Many of the promises simply say, delight yourself in God and He will give you, or draw near to me and I will ... and many are just simply, this is what I promise to you because I love you. Jesus promised in John 14:14 If you ask anything in my name, I will do it. And in John 16:24 until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. As I read these faith statements and these promises and as I meditate on them and take them into my soul, I have to choose to believe, these are words given to me by awesome wonderful Father in Heaven. I have to trust that if it says it in his words, it is done. It is very easy to get discouraged when waiting for something that you have been asking God for. It is very easy to think that God is too busy to hear your prayer or to think that you have done something wrong and you are being punished and that is why you are not seeing results for you prayers. I pray that you learn the lesson I learned from my unbelief that sometimes, it is the way that I am praying is the problem. In James chapter 4, it says you have not, because you ask not. If you ask anything fully believing, without doubting or wavering, you will have what you ask for. I am so thankful that God opened my eyes to show me, that instead of sowing seeds of faith into my friend's problem, I was sowing seeds of doubt by asking why and when. I know that what we are asking for is a need and not just a request out of greed, I know that it is in His will and today, I truly believe, because we have asked, she will receive above and beyond what we have asked for. Praying that your day is blessed and you are filled with the love and joy of the our wonderful, awesome Father in Heaven today.
Iam passionate about the love of Jesus and the things that He has done in my life and I am so excited that I have to share with the world what He has done, not only in my life, but in others lives as well.
