I went to the meeting place this weekend and I got to meet with my Father God in a whole new way. I wanted to share with you what He showed me. I cried before I went, Oh God, what is wrong with me? Why do I always feel so distant from you? Why am I having trouble drawing near to you to let you help me with my life? Why do I keep having the same troubles as before I ever knew you? People have told me over and over that I need to know who I am in God. I do know who I am in Christ Jesus and confess who I am continually yet there was still something so wrong in my relationship with God the Father. This weekend, God showed me that I did not truly have a good picture of who He was. I still fear coming to Him. On Saturday, He showed me a beautiful picture of who He really was through some men who volunteered to help with the retreat during our prayer time. There was a man who was very tall and his voice booms when he speaks. As he walked around the room this man was taking authority and praying for the ladies while they were praying. As I looked at him, I heard the scripture, Deuteronomy 1:30 The LORD your God, who is going before you, will fight for you. The next man, was walking the outer edges of the room with his hands held high in worship to God and as I looked at him, I heard the words, Psalm 91:1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. His arms raised up to heaven represented the shadow of the wings that were covering us as we prayed. Then there was a man who, as his daughter knelt to pray, picked up a box of Kleenex, very softly walked over to her and laid it in front of her. He never touched her nor disturbed her in any way. He stepped to her side and bowed his head to pray. As he stood there, I heard the words Genesis 28:15 I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go. When he walked away from her, he walked past me and said, the Father says your tears are beautiful. The tears that I have tried so hard not to cry are beautiful to God. There was a cross that we were nailing out troubles on. There was the last gentleman, and as I watched, he hammered the nails for the ladies as they brought there troubles to the cross. I heard the words Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, and I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.' He represented to me how Jesus not only says, come to me all you who are weary and I will give you rest. He not only tells us to bring our burdens to the cross but He helps us to lay them there. Wow. God used these men to show me different examples of his strength, his love and his gentleness. I pray that as you read this, you are able to see our Heavenly Father in the same way that I was able to see him this weekend
Iam passionate about the love of Jesus and the things that He has done in my life and I am so excited that I have to share with the world what He has done, not only in my life, but in others lives as well.
