network security assessment
More Details about network security assessment here.
Over a period of time, people have increased use of Social Media to stay connected. Through these media websites they share all the personal as well as professional information about themselves. But now-a-days these websites are used by hackers and fraudsters for carrying out illegal activities. They select all the valuable information and use it against you. This type of activity is termed s phishing. Its usually through email and hacked websites, but Social Media has changed the target.
Phishing involves the process of acquiring all your private information like usernames and passwords, credit card information and other important details. It can be carried out in various ways. The most used method is by sending you official-looking e-mails that claims that your credit card services have been stopped temporarily as an attempt to withdraw money from your account from a different country had been made. They offer a link to restore the services and make a similar kind of completely official-looking website and the users easily share the sensitive information as they get scared of thefts. Or the Phishers send e-mails with attractive offers (like using the names of Pay Pal, Amazon and eBay) that require them to share the complete details of their whereabouts.
Websites like Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin and many more are full of complete daily routine details and personal datas that contain all your family background information. Many thefts are reported daily in the news and the results have been completely disheartening. ut the person responsible for the scam got scot-free as he had all the secret information about the bank. Several phishing attacks have been carried out in the past and the main targets have been websites, businesses, government organizations, banks and various financial institutions. To avoid phishing and huge losses there are many network security assessment tools that keep your network system safe.
To protect your important information you should also keep a few precautions in your mind. You should avoid clicking on suspicious links. If you are doubtful about whether the mail is genuine or not, you should first cross-check with your bank and then only proceed further. You must not divulge any details to an e-mail requesting for your personal information and confirm it from the real sources first. No clicking on mails from unknown persons offering exciting officers should be clicked without giving it a close inspection and having an antivirus product and phishing filter runninghought. Make sure the connection is secure and an anti-threat alert system is installed in your system. To keep your information safe in your account, the password should bes required to be changed after every 30 days.
The above listed information covers phishing and the risks involved with it. They are meant to offer guidance to the users to keep their personal information safe by taking a few cautionary measures.
