We use a bidding system that lets you set your own price for advertising on our home page. You may purchase "Idea Dollars" and then use those "Idea Dollars" to gain prominent positioning of your articles, press releases, books, and ebooks on the home page and primary pages of IdeaMarketers. This is an ideal way to get your items picked up by spidering search engines (like Google, MSN, Ask, etc).
Items on our site are sorted from highest to lowest "bidder." Our bidding system is a set-your-own pricing model. For example, if someone pays $30/week for a position, their item will come up higher than someone who pays $20/week or $10/week. Bids last for 7 days or multiples thereof. Remember, longevity on our home page is a better use of your funds than higher positioning.
The home page features the top 60 bidders in each of these 2 groups:
Group 1 (left column of home page):
Business, Marketing,
Technology, Finance,
Travel and Tourism
Group 2 (middle column of home page):
Education/Nature, Entertainment/News,
Home/Family, Writing/Publishing
and Personal Development/Lifestyle
(Books appear in the right column of the home page.)
Choosing a Channel Category
The channel (category) pages are sorted in the same manner as the home page except they only show articles for one particular channel (ex: Business, Marketing, Technology, Finance, etc.)
When you submit an article, you select a category. That category determines your channel. For example any category with LIFE in front of it goes in the Lifestyle/Personal Development Channel. Anything with HOME in front of it goes in the Home/Family/Parenting Channel.
You can edit this category later - even after your bid is placed. We do monitor these, so please do not place your article in a category that it doesn't relate to just to get first page positioning. We'll reroute your article to the proper category and this could affect your positioning.
BONUS EXPOSURE!
How Long Bids for Promotion Last
All bids last for 1 week, but you may choose to submit a bid for several weeks at a time using our quantity option on our bidding form. For example, you can place a $5 bid to last for 10 weeks for a total of $50. If you bid again on an article you have already bid on before it expires, any time remaining is erased and the bid starts over. For example, if you bid $30 for a spot on September 15th to last 1 week and come back on the 19th and bid $50, your bid in the system will be $50 and the effective start date of your bid will be the 19th.
Can I Bid for Longer than 7 Days?
Yes, you may place a bid for multiple weeks at a time.
How to Bid
From within your writer login area, whenever you add or edit an article, you'll be given the option to bid for placement. There's also a Bid for Promotion link under the Article/PR Admin section of the member menu.
When bidding, you'll be shown current bids for top positions for each category so you have an idea of what the category positions are going for so you can place an appropriate bid.
You'll enter your bid amount, the number of weeks you'd like to bid for, choose whether you'd like the article proofed or not, then press the Calculate button to get a total. Once you've calculated the total and have the bid the way you want it, scroll down and submit the bid. You'll then be given a bid confirmation number which you should write down. Then click the Paypal link and pay for your bid. After your bid is successfully paid for, you'll be taken to a page where you can put in your unique confirmation number to activate your placement in the system.
Q&A
Q. Can I still post articles for free?
A. Of course you can still post articles for free as you always have! People will still be able to search the system and find them. The bidding system gives those who want prominent positioning exposure on our popular home and channel pages. It's a great marketing tool for those who have back-end products to sell or who are trying to increase their search engine positioning through prominent placement on our popular site.
Q. I placed my bid and paid through Paypal, but my bid isn't there.
This usually happens when, for whatever reason, Paypal doesn't send you to our confirmation page to enter your confirmation number. Please give us 2-3 business hours to complete this process and then if your bid still isn't activated, you may email us at webmaster@ideamarketers.com .
Please note that our home page is on a periodic update so it may take a little time for your bid to appear. You may force the home page to update by logging into your writer account and choosing Update Home Page under the Article/PR Admin section of the menu.
Current Bids
Here are the current bids in the system. Notice that you can only bid in whole dollar amounts! Please be aware that these bids are subject to change. This is a live bidding system. We can't guarantee that by the time you place your bid that these bids won't have changed.
