NEXTAID: Official Groove Cruise Charity
A portion of your cruise fare goes to benefit NextAID. Whet Travel/Groove Cruise has donated thousands of dollars over the last 4 years to the kids in Dennilton who have lost their parents to AIDS. Whet Travel president and Groove Cruise founder Jason Beukema along with his girlfriend Careli Campos traveled to South Africa and visited the Dennilton site on March 11, 2009. They were deeply moved by the vibrant kids, their stories, their scars, and the surroundings they live in. And now thanks to the people at NextAid and their supporters like us, some of them now have food to eat, a place to sleep, education and a chance in life. The reality is there are 3-5 AIDS funerals a week in the town and an 88 percent unemployment rate. It is hard to imagine, and there are many more kids in the village that sorely need help and education to stop this vicious cycle. We've met these kids located at the NextAid site and hugged them with our own arms...without people like us, they would be on the street with no parents, begging for food and no one to raise them.
