Dr. Neill obtained his Ph. D. in psychology in 1968 from University of Western Ontario with a grant from the Addiction Research Foundation of Ontario. He is the author of Living with a Functioning Alcoholic - A Woman’s Survival Guide. His career has spanned mental health and addictions work, as well as university teaching and business. He divides his time among his writing, his private practice in psychological counseling and life coaching, and his work as consulting psychologist for the Sunshine Coast Health Centre, a private drug and alcoholism treatment center for men.
